Remote video podcast recording

Your whole show — or network — for one flat price.

Guests are always free. Lay out your scene, send your guests a link, and hit record. PodScene composites the finished video for you, and your scene drops straight into OBS when you go live.

How it works

Three steps from empty room to finished episode

  1. 1

    Lay out the scene

Place cameras, titles and images on the canvas in the layout editor. What you see is what gets recorded.

  2. 2

    Send guests a link

Guests join from their browser. No account, no download, and they never take up a seat.

  3. 3

    Record, get the video

Each person is recorded in their own browser and uploaded as you go. When you stop, PodScene renders the composited video in your layout.

Live with OBS

Your scene is an OBS browser source

Add your scene's link to OBS as a browser source and it shows the live layout, guests and all. Stream it to YouTube, Twitch or anywhere else with your own stream key, and keep recording in PodScene at the same time.

What you get

Built for shows, not seats

Local-quality tracks

Every participant records in their own browser and uploads in small chunks, so a shaky connection doesn't cost you the take.

The finished video

Download the composited episode, plus each person's own track as an editor-friendly MP4 if you want to cut it yourself.

Screen sharing

Share a screen mid-episode and the layout switches to fit it, live in OBS and in the finished video.

Guests are free

Record a host and up to three guests per episode. Guests never count as seats, on any plan.

One price per show

Plans are priced per organization with seats included, so a three-person show pays once.

Free to start

A free plan, not a trial. 3 recorded hours a month and every person's separate track with no watermark. Only the finished video carries a small mark.

Who it's for

From a solo show to a small network

Solo hosts with guests

Interview shows where the guest list changes every week and nobody wants to install anything.

Shows run by a team

A few people sharing one show's layouts, recordings and bill, without paying for each of them separately.

Small networks

Several shows under one organization. Plans for networks are coming soon.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What is PodScene?

PodScene is a browser-based studio for recording remote video podcasts. A host and up to three guests join from their browsers, each person is recorded on their own device at full quality, and PodScene renders the finished video in your layout. The same scene works as an OBS browser source for livestreaming.

Do guests need an account or a download?

No. Guests join from a link in their browser, with no account and nothing to install. Guests are free on every plan and never use a seat.

How many people can be in a recording?

A host and up to three guests per recording, on every plan.

How much does PodScene cost?

The Free plan costs $0 and includes 3 recorded hours a month and recordings kept 7 days. Each person's separate track has no watermark; the finished video carries a small one. Creator costs $12 a month, or $10 a month billed annually, and includes 10 recorded hours a month, 2 seats and no watermark. Plans are priced per organization, not per user.

Does PodScene work with OBS?

Yes. Every scene has a link you add to OBS as a 1920×1080 browser source. It shows your live layout with every participant and carries their audio, so you can stream to YouTube, Twitch or any other service with your own stream key.

What do I get after recording?

A finished, composited video in your layout, with your intro and outro, plus each person's own track as a separate MP4 file for editing.

How is PodScene different from Riverside or StreamYard?

PodScene's paid plans start at $12 a month with 2 seats included, and guests are always free. It's built around OBS: your scene is an OBS browser source, and the finished video is composited in the same layout. See the full comparisons with Riverside and StreamYard.
